Pupil illness

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

Recently there has been a rise in the number of children who are poorly - colds, coughs, flu, sickness etc - and in order to provide the best possible conditions for learning and care at school we are asking parents/carers to take note of the following:

  • If your child has experienced any flu-like symptoms eg raised temperature, sore throat, aches etc it is advised that you do not bring your child into school until they have recovered and are symptom free.

  • If your child has an episode of diarrhoea/vomiting it is recommended that they do not return to school until         48 hours from the last episode.

It is important that children attend school as much as possible but we also want children to be well enough to learn and to prevent the spread of any virus as much as possible.

The above advice was provided by the school nurse and guidance from the Health protection Agency.  Further information can be found at www.hpa.org.uk
